A 66.ª edição do Grammy, que ocorreu no domingo, 4, marcou um novo recorde na carreira de Taylor Swift. A artista, que ganhou na principal categoria da noite, a de Álbum do Ano, se tornou o primeiro artista na história da premiação a ganhar quatro vezes nesta categoria, um feito jamais alcançado por ninguém.

A premiação contou com número recorde de indicações femininas nas categorias mais importantes, como gravação do ano, com sete indicadas: SZA, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Victoria Monét, Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, além do trio indie feminino Boygenius. O único homem na categoria foi o pianista Jon Batiste.

As mulheres também foram as principais atrações dos shows da cerimônia, com apresentações de Joni Mitchell, SZA (liderando com nove indicações), Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo e Dua Lipa. Também fizeram shows Billy Joel, o rapper Travis Scott, o cantor country Luke Combs e o nigeriano Burna Boy.

A cerimônia também deu a volta por cima e entregou uma das melhores edições de sua história, seja pelas apresentações históricas que levou ao palco, como de Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, Billy Joel e Tracy Chapman, seja pelo número recorde de troféus entregues para mulheres e artistas negros.

Desta forma, a cerimônia do Grammy superou em muito as duas últimas e chatíssimas edições. Na de 2022, ainda tomada por precauções da Covid, a festa quase não contou com bons convidados.

Já a de 2023 pecou em não dar o mais importante prêmio da noite, o de álbum do ano, para Beyoncé, a artista mais premiada da história, com 32 troféus, mas nenhum nesta categoria (erro lembrado neste ano por seu marido, Jay Z, que discursou ao receber o gramofone de impacto global).
